THANKS TO OUR SUPPORTERS
Ronald McDonald House Northern NSW relies on the community’s generosity to support families with sick or injured children. Thank you to everyone who has helped keep families close.
Mondays made special
Maddison made Monday morning very special in the Family Room. After a week of celebrating turning 4, Maddison decided she wanted to do good and help others. She decided that she wanted to donate all of the presents she received for her birthday to the sick children in the Hospital visiting the Family Room. Giving away all of those presents wouldn’t have been easy, but Maddison did so with a big smile and a kind and caring heart. Sometimes Monday’s can be hard, but when people like Maddison stop by the Family Room, you can’t help but feel uplifted and thankful for the amazing support of the community.
Pledge your birthday to help keep families together. It's easy. Instead of gifts, ask for donations.
Celebrating a Centenary
The CommBank Foundation’s Centenary of Giving have generously helped keep families with sick or injured children together across our Northern NSW region. Thanks to local Commonwealth Bank branches in Forster, Gosford and East Maitland and their employees who have awarded grants. This will help provide families with things like sensory play areas at the Family Retreat and ongoing support and care in our Gosford Family Room and the Newcastle House.
ClubGRANTS bring joy
Families staying at Ronald McDonald House® Tamworth will be able to enjoy a newly revamped toy room with thanks to West Tamworth League Club, ClubGRANTS and the support of the business community. Our families are really enjoying this wonderful space with room for parents and children to read, play draw and be together.
Garage Sale for Good
A big thanks to Max and Harry from the Central Coast. Two great young kids who decided to organise and run a garage sale to help families with sick or injured kids.
The support of a generous community, both young and old, is inspiring and means that the Family Room is able to provide and support for local families with sick or injured children.
Soldiers point bowling club - sponsors a unit
Not only is the seaside village of Soldiers Point a wonderful place to visit, it’s also a place of some very proud Ronald McDonald House supporters. The local bowling club has supported Newcastle House for many years and recently renewed their annual sponsorship of Unit 1. President Jim Richardson said of their support, “We are all very impressed by the work you do there and are happy to help.”
Ecoviva Australia bring smiles to sick kids
Thank You to Ecoviva Australia for their generous donation of an amazing new Bumpa Play Mat for the Family Room in Gosford. We totally love it, and this one has a choice of dinosaurs one side and cars the other, so we can change it around whenever we need. This little guy went straight into the play area and is happily playing (and has the cutest little smile).
thank you Novascape & the Newcastle Community
The Newcastle community heeded a call from one of our resident families, and have totally transformed the large area at the back of our house, creating an amazing grassy play area for everyone to enjoy.
When Nathan Roper put a call out on his Facebook page for donations of turf so he could re-turf the space himself, we were not ready for the outpouring of support and offers of assistance he received!
Within a couple of days, Novascape Landscaping had promised to project manage the entire job from start to finish – and the result has been amazing!
Trucking for sick kids
Thank you to the Newcastle Hunter Transport Awareness Group who recently selected Ronald McDonald House Northern NSW as a major beneficiary for the proceeds generated from the Newcastle Hunter Transport Awareness Day & Truck Expo.
The Expo will take place on 29 October 2017 and we'll keep you updated on the event.
Gosford Family Room refresh
It has been a long time wish list to better organize the Gosford Ronald McDonald Family Room living area and make the play space more homely, functional and child friendly. The last phase of the project was to make better use of the living area and make the play space, games and toys more accessible for the children and families.
This would not have been possible without the amazing Contribution by Virtual Joinery, who donated new custom built cabinetry and Taylor Made Solutions for donating their time and skills to install the new cabinets. Your generous work has totally exceeded our expectations and We (and our families) are so in love with our new living space, Thank You.
Mums supporting mums
New mums from across Maitland gathered for their monthly ‘Babes and Picnics’ catch up at Maitland Park last week, where they share stories, advice and friendship. Such a great community initiative! They also did a collection for families staying at Newcastle House, which we gratefully received on the day.
new water tank for Tamworth house
Ronald McDonald House Tamworth are thankful for the recent donation from the Quota Club of Inverell of our new water tank and pump. The recent rain has helped fill our tank which we can now use to water our gardens.
Regional Australia Bank Twilight Charity Bowls
A special thanks for the support received from Regional Australia Bank, Slater & Gordon, Allsopp Signs, The Services Group and those that participated in our recent Twilight Bowls Evening. A very chilly but fun night was had by all. With over $4,000 raised for Ronald McDonald House Tamworth.
