"I love meeting our families and hearing their stories but mostly giving them a friendly face and a place that is more like a 'home away from home' than a hospital waiting room" said Carrington, one of the amazing Family Room volunteers in Gosford.
Carrington who is a full-time student working 3 jobs still manages to make time every second week to give back to the community and volunteer in the Family Room. Carrington doesn’t only give her time, but she has managed to get her whole family involved in the Charity during the past 12 months.
Her younger sister Charli, is completing her Duke of Ed Volunteering hours in the Family Room. Her brother and sister-in-law have helped on McHappy Day, her Mum and sister came and gave some hours and wrapped presents at our Charity gift wrapping stand at Erina Fair. And her grandparents donate time and money every year to the charity.
Ronald McDonald House was Carrington’s grandfather's favourite charity. He sadly passed last year, but she tells us "I know he’d be so proud that our family continues to support his favourite charity."
"I am privileged experiencing the overwhelming kindness of our community. So many local organisations, family businesses and individuals support us with donations from food and toys to handmade blankets."
