After retiring from a busy career as a teacher which included taking on the role of Convener for NSW Primary Schools Football and President of the Hunter Primary Schools Sports Association, volunteer Carey Binks wanted to continue giving back to the community and volunteering at Ronald McDonald House appealed to him.
A self-confessed soccer tragic and avid record collector, Carey Binks completed his volunteer training in April 2017 and started volunteering in Newcastle House and the J1 Family Room when he returned from holidays in July.
From housekeeping duties and chatting with families, to looking after the House on the overnight shift, Carey thoroughly enjoys his volunteering.
When Carey isn’t helping around Ronald McDonald House and the Family Room he is growing his 30,000 strong collection of 7inch vinyl singles, with regular trips to record fairs across the country! He also enjoys exploring further abroad and is planning a trip to Russia for the FIFA World Cup in June.
Thank you Carey!
