Nine-year-old Travis was diagnosed with bone cancer just before Christmas last year. Two days later, he was hundreds of kilometers away from everything he knew and loved. For over nine months Travis and his mother would be separated from the rest of their family, while Travis received grueling treatment for his cancer.
Ronald McDonald House were able to open their doors to Travis and his family during his treatment, relieving the financial burden of paying for accommodation, and providing a haven where the family could come together and heal.
Keeping Families Close
Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern NSW programs keep families near each other and the care they need through Ronald McDonald Houses in Newcastle and Tamworth, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms in the John Hunter Children's Hospital and the Gosford Hospital, Ronald McDonald Family Retreat in Forster, and the Ronald McDonald Learning Program.
"When the sky tumbled in for our family, you were there. We are so grateful for having a soft place to land as we endured this long and difficult journey“
