Kick up your heels and let’s take our hats off for sick kids!
With the coronavirus severely restricting our ability to fundraise, we need your help more than ever. Join our Hats Off to Sick Kids online music event on Friday, 10 July 2020, 8pm, and show your support for the families of sick kids like Sophia.
Each year Ronald McDonald House Charities NNSW gives over 400 families from the New England Northwest a home away from home so they can be near their seriously ill child in hospital. One of these families was Sophia’s, who spent seven weeks at Ronald McDonald House Tamworth as she received treatment in the Special Care Nursery.
The global health crisis has put further stress on these families of sick kids. Help us help them – place your bids in the online auction, join us for some fantastic country music, give generously so they feel our support during this difficult time.

The Event
Hosted live by MC, Ronnie T, and live-streamed on the dedicated Hats Off to Country Facebook page, this online event will feature songs from leading country music artists such as Adam Harvey, Darren Coggan, Kirsty Lee Akers, Hayley Jensen and Jetty Road.
In the lead up to the event, thanks to our event partner Wicked Memorabilia, you will also have the chance to bid on some amazing music memorabilia in the online auction – with winners announced at the end of the show, and profits going to support the important work we do.
Seriously ill children are amongst the most vulnerable people during this global health crisis. We are proud of our long history supporting the families who stay at Ronald McDonald House, providing the accommodation and care they need so they can focus on helping their child through throughout their treatment.
Your support will help ensure we can keep supporting local families long into the future.

Sophia’s story
When little Sophia was born almost ten weeks prematurely, she needed vital care before she was ready to face the world.
Sophia’s parents, April and Michael, received the difficult news that Sophia had fluid on her brain. After initially thinking they would need she would need to be treated in NCL or Westmead (a long way from their home town of Gunnedah), they were incredibly relieved to find the care she needed in Tamworth – meaning they were able to be closer to their extended family.
